In LOVE…

August 15, 2007 by justtoolazy

(Bottom row -second from left) Yesterday night -finally saw the much talked about movie or the flavour of the month -”Chakde India” -  great movie – excellent tight story -fast and pacy -with as little BS (read “emotional masala” ) as is possible in Bollywood movies and really gets the audience to cheer in quite a few instances. SRK delivers his usual TM performance which is good but nothing brilliant -the movie/theme is so good and fast (does not drag at all) plus all the patriotism and 15th August -all put together makes a heady concotion which one cannot but help get immersed in save if your a “stone” (i meant “patthar dil”)

But the point of this blog is -i have fallen in love – “Preeti Sabarwal” reel name -real name -Sagarika Ghatge -man she is so beautiful – i mean the first and most obvious thing i noticed (any guy will i am sure 200%) and girls more so (i have been told so) is her flawless complexion, beautiful features, great height and amazing figure -i mean its just perfect and then when she speaks in that slightly accented( good public school/convent) English – i was floored – not only is she smart,  independent (ditches the snobbish BF finally) and a great centre forward (sportswoman) -she has a great attitude and that ambition to win , succeed -show people that girls(women)  are equal to men in all fields if not better in some!!!

entire movie was a pleasure to watch more so since she was there in a number of shots :-) )) -well going to see the movie again on the weekend with family and i wont be dissapointed i am sure – Preeti Sabarwal with that “ipod” – in her athletic gear and the “trademark white hairband” – and of course last but not the least “that Chandigarh Punjabi Kudi attitude” -she rocks guys!!! -One cannot miss her  – i think i am ready for marriage :-) )) Sagarika Ghatge – here i come!!!!

Kaffee urf coffee

August 7, 2007 by justtoolazy

Its German for coffee if i remember my 10th std german -Das Kaffee -getting grammar in place!!! was sitting at my distributor’s place -a guy walks in – “do u have deca.. decaf” – one of us said decaf – spot on !!! He wanted 10Kgs of Decaf (decaffeinated) coffee -man and i thought only the West had coffee that way -while  we indians only had “Nescoffee” or “Filter Capi” if i can use those words!!!

I always wonder why we indians drink so much tea -why not coffee -after all 150 yrs back the English taught us how to have tea or “chai” and we keep on having tons of it literally!!! so whats wrong with coffee – now the americans are teaching us “the coffee culture” or “coffee experience”  -what with the Baristas and the CCD’s we are evolving to appreciate variety of coffee’s -of course i am not complaining about the coffee drinking habit considering i work for Nestle (Nescafe coffee -rings a bell!!!!)

anyways i have the Cafe latte and the Cappuchinos of this world -although i am an amateur when it comes to coffee beans (arabiata and java and what not) and i cannot identify one from the other -although i enjoy my Latte with the “chocolate excess” at CCD or is it Barista (i am always confused abt the pastry thing) but the combo is great -and there is nothing like coffee, pastry and a stimulating conversation with friends/strangers/a beautiful girl that u just met (does’nt happen in real life :-) ))

was watching the first half an hour of “You’ve Got Mail” tonight at 11.00 pm on HBO -and tom hanks goes like “guys who have no sense of definition/choice, for just $2.95 get a defining sense of self when every morning at their local Starbucks they order their “dark, tall, decaf, cappuchino” -ever since i saw that movie i have always wanted to have Starbucks coffee – was so close yet so far last yr when i was in singapore but due to time constraints never got an opportunity to go to that great Starbucks outlet on “orchard street” – anyways had starbucks imported coffee last year in Mumbai – Malad area in the hypermall “Hypercity” but that wish is still there for a “tall, deaf, cappuchino” from my neighbourhood Starbucks store right here in Pune,India (my hometown) and (if i may borrow here from my namesake’s blogname)  – “words after words and a cup of coffee”

Change

“change is constant”  -another cliched/hackneyed phrase -but then it is true. Well as you can all make out its obvious – i changed my hairstyle and that attracted attention all right but not exactly what was required. let me give a short background – been trying to grow my hair long for a year now -for various reasons had to chop them off regularly -this april 2007 decided enough is enough -stopped going to the barber -now after consistent nagging from parents and after 3.5 months – i resemble “Don King”/ “satya shri Sai Baba”  when it comes to tresses!! so on this rainy sunday -5th of august 2007 – decide to get my hair temporarily straightened or ironed or pressed or whatever its called -considering my hair texture -extremely curly and wavy -it took the better part of two hours and a lot of effort on the hairstylist and Rs 300 to resemble the photo i have put, not to mention a couple of minor burns on my scalp due to the iron :-) ) but the comments i get after that :

1) Dad – ” you are an immature boy -its looks absolutely disgusting and ridiculous -get rid of it”

2) Mom – ” you look gay “ - now you decide what you want kind of tone

3) Sister – ” comb it back and you look ok” – very close to being a compliment although some people think it was more of a consolation!!!

4) Friends – ” no comments” , “the less said the better” , ” i am always with you whenver you do anything weird”

thats abt it for the day -tomorrow post bath i will be back to my old look – “lenny kravitz” if you prefer but my resolution of growing hair till shoulder length still remains unshaken as i go forward on this path of change however ephemeral it may be!!

Random cribs

July 30, 2007 by justtoolazy

been quite a bad day -boss in a cranky mood -still cribbing – tone set for a really blue monday -trip to mumbai – waking up at 5.30 am -waste of a meeting with customer in the afternoon -knowing this would happen and still having to attend courtesy “You know who” – nice movie in the bus (exception)  – bad crowd in the bus – seat with some “stain” on it -last but one row in the bus – reaching late to office -very late -boss calling in between – customer pestering in between – distributor’s insubordination – loads of work being heaped in the days to come – forgetting calling a friend on her birthday yesterday – bad food in the canteen – knee paining like hell – all this on the day of record sales figure – “PRICELESS” – There are many things Mastercard can buy for everything else like pain ,suffering, murderous tendencies there is “BOSS” – i rest my case

One of those days…

July 10, 2007 by justtoolazy

Being in a sales job like mine – you basially cannot survive without a cell phone. Its like an extended part of the body -your entire existence is based on one bloody piece of electronic equipment… and when that fails you know you have had it.

Yesterday was one such day – i was out visiting one of the new outlets (supermarket variety -you know AC and all that ambience and shit and a lot of offers popping out from each shelf apparently enticing the customer but we all know customer sabka Kela banata hai and has the last laugh) While talking to one of the staff – i received a call and as i was removing that boon or bane??? called as phone  – it slipped and Thunked onto the shiny, hard flooring and obviously stopped ringing. After repeated attempts at restarting the damn thing -i knew what usually happened to people had infact happened to me!! Being an N72 (expensive handset!!) i knew Nokia Care was needed asap. Called up Sudeep (one of the my school buddies – who is an electronics and computer freak!!) Only place where i could go was Dhankawadi in Pune (also my HQ and hometown) which is quite far from the place i was. Coupled to this was the fact that “the Palkhi” – “Sant Dyaneshwar’s Chappals” were travelling from Alandi to Pandharpur (holy places in Maharashtra) and so most of the Pune roads were closed.

Took an auto to the Nokia Care centre – got a token issued at 3.00 pm – No. was C 187 – guard said  “Ya Ek – Did tasani” – ” Come after 1.5 hrs” -so i had to kill time without a phone -u generally call people if you have spare time -what an irony!!! so there i was tired, bored, haggard , no place to sit, huge crowd and no phone with token number C187. Visited the place every half an hour ( in between called up sales contacts via pay phone and managed to have 2 cups of tea too) -finally at 5.30 pm -met the service person -after ten minutes was told that -entire phone memory will be deleted -how many numbers to reenter :( ((( and that handset can be collected in a couple of days.

Started using spare old handset 3310 today -its battery conks off every 2 hours -damn my sales are getting affected bigtime -cant recognize who is calling – Person X ” saale awaaz nahi pehchaani”  i reply ” phone kharab hai aur number stored nahi hai” -typical conversation in all calls the whole day today -what a Royal Mess!#$%%#%

Today tried calling the service centre every 2 hrs and it was continuously busy and damn twas frustrating -dont know when my handset will come back (how much its going to cost me) and when will i have to stop trying to figure out ki kaun bol raha hai everytime the phone rings – and tonight even as i write about this i wonder “Mere saath hi kyun hota hai yeh sab??????? ”
